If you hang out with successful people you’ve
surely been told either…
Get a coach…
or
But is there a difference? Which is better?
See, in the real estate arena a "coach" is only
someone who knows theory and has limited
knowledge (from what they have read in books).
A real estate coach knows the "what to do's"
but
doesn’t necessarily know how to teach
exactly how to do it due to lack of experience.
A coach is someone who just has a "job" to teach
and usually lacks that emotional commitment and
dedication to the student.
And let's be honest, for anyone who has had a
real estate coach, they are typically just some
younger person reading a script, trying to teach
you something that they just learned.
That STINKS!
When you join a "coaching" program you are
putting your life in the hands of someone who
probably hates their “job”. No wonder so many
people fail miserably with coaching programs!
(Ok....I need to take a deep breath and relax)
A Mentor is someone who has already reached
the level of expertise and success that you desire.
This is a person who doesn't need to teach but
truly enjoys helping someone else succeed.
For a Mentor it is immensely gratifying to give
back and show a student an easier path towards
the success they will achieve.
The best example for a Mentor/student relationship
is the same feeling for a parent and their
child.
Just like a parent there is an unwavering dedication
and commitment that cannot be broken. There is a
passion for a Mentor to MAKE SURE their student
has massive success because that is a direct reflection
on them.
A Mentor is someone who has a vested interest in
your success.
There is also a selfish side of Mentoring as well.
A Mentor
wants to feel proud. They want to feel
like they were the one who helped completely
change someone's life because of their vast
knowledge. In their eyes it is the highest level
of achievement. They will give anything and
everything to make sure their student has
hit
every goal and milestone they have set out to
accomplish. They won't rest until they do.
If you are looking for that same type of
commitment and dedication...then I would like
to give you exactly
that!
