If you own older property, or you live
in an area where property values are
growing increasingly fast...
You need to protest your property tax!
I was able to save $1100 this past year
in taxes just from my properties in
Austin, TX...
And over $10,000 across our entire
rental property portfolio.
Think that helps? Heck ya!
So the next time you get your tax bill,
and you're thinking, "dang, it went
up again"...
You can do something about it.
I personally hired a company called
Texas ProTax, they only service the
Austin and Houston area, but you
can easily do this yourself.
Just prepare some simple documents
the county asks of you, take some
pictures, pull some comps that justify
why your property value is too high,
and you're off to the races.
In most cases, they will reduce your
taxed amount just for showing up...
1-2 hours of your day can equal a few
hundred dollars in annual savings.
Make sure you're NOT ignoring this
very important step of protesting your
property taxes this year, and every
year after.

PS - Decreasing your property value for
tax purposes won't hurt your sale price.
Completing an appraisal at the time of
the sale will bring the value back to
where you want.
